Six years after being established, the Penrose Inquiry will publish a final report tomorrow at 11 am.

The launch event will be held in the National Museum of Scotland. There are people travelling from all over Scotland, and beyond, to be present and a significant media presence is expected. It will be the most comprehensive Inquiry into the contaminated blood disaster ever conducted anywhere in the UK.

The Inquiry has announced that Lord Penrose is seriously ill in hospital and will be unable to attend the event. Secretary to the Inquiry, Maria McCann will deliver Lord Penrose’s statement on his behalf.

Copies of the Final Report and the Executive Summary will be available at the conclusion of the event. The report will go live at 12 noon on the Penrose Inquiry Website.

On the day any member of the public can attend the press conference for the publication of the report. We are hoping that as many affected individuals and families as possible will attend and join us for lunch afterwards.

The launch event will be in the Auditorium at the National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh, and starts at 11am. The Inquiry are recommending using the Lothian Street entrance which will be opened for the occasion. However, you can still get access to the Auditorium if you come through the main entrance, although you would have to take a lift or stairs up one level to be on the right floor. If you need disabled access then the Inquiry ask that you call 0131-528 5221 to make arrangements.

Pay and display parking is available on Chambers Street. There are also four designated public parking spaces in Chambers Street. There is no charge for these spaces. However, they cannot be booked in advance. The nearest car park is the NCP in the Quartermile. However, be aware that it is just under half a mile away.

Those attending should access the Museum by the Lothian Street entrance. The Inquiry asks that anyone requiring assistance with disabled access please call 0131 528 5221.
