Earlier this week Haemophilia Scotland CEO, Dan Farthing, visited the Aberdeen Haemophilia Centre to drop off the latest edition of The Wire and catch up with the latest news from the Centre.
He was struck by how little space the Centre has and was interested to learn that there is a possibility that the new Cancer Centre being planned on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary site may lead to improved facilities for the Aberdeen Haemophilia Centre.
We understand the new Cancer Centre wouldn’t be complete for at least 6 years so doesn’t offer an immediate solution to the problem. However, we will find out more about the plans and keep you up to date. Meanwhile, the staff in Aberdeen are all working extremely hard to make sure the current accommodation is used as effectively as possible so that they can continue to provide the high level of service that people with Bleeding Disorders in the North East and beyond are used to.
