SIGN is collaborating with Scottish Government and The Health and Social Care Alliance
(The Alliance) to produce a public version of ‘Opioid Prescribing for Chronic Pain: A Quality
Improvement Resource’.
The guidance in the resource aims to promote quality improvement when prescribing opioid
pain relievers for the treatment of chronic pain in Scotland, using a shared decision making
approach. People with lived experience of chronic pain will have the opportunity to
participate in user testing of the public version.
