Events

In this section you can find out about upcoming events.  You can also read reports from some of the events we have run in the past so you can find out a bit more about what to expect.

Almost all our events are free to members and we aim to run a wide enough variety of events that whatever your age, bleeding disorder, or location, there is something for everyone.  We can usually help with the costs of travel as well.

Dates for your diary

We’ve been working away in the background on fundraising applications to organise an events programme for our membership in 2024. The below is where we are at just now. Make sure you follow us on Facebook and check our website regularly for updates.

Women’s Conference

If you are a woman affected by a bleeding disorder, join us on Saturday 16th March, 10am-4pm, at Stirling Highland Hotel for our Conference on Women’s Health.

Comic Book Project

We’re partnering with Magic Torch on a new project for children aged 8-18 affected by a bleeding disorder. They’ll have the chance to share their stories and experiences of living with a bleeding disorder and have them turned into a comic book! We held the first workshop in March 2023 and will be hosting the second workshop, for teens aged 12-16, on Saturday 7th September at the Quaker Hall on Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh. Following the workshop we will go to “Can you Escape?” to do an Escape Room! Registration will be available soon.

Project for people aged 50+ affected by a bleeding disorder

Prior to the pandemic, we were successful in obtaining funding for a project for people aged 50+ affected by a bleeding disorder. We’re looking at hosting something in the autumn/early winter and would love your input into this event. If you’d like to be involved with organising the event or have any ideas for content you’d like to hear on (e.g. pain management, physio etc.) or activities you’d like to do, then please email alex@haemophilia.scot.

Please feel free to share your ideas for content and/or activities that you would like us to have for our events.
