A hardy group Haemophilia Scotland Trustees and Volunteers, of all ages, braved some very changeable weather on Saturday to take part in the Official Opening of the fifth session of the Scottish Parliament.
We were part of the Riding down the Royal Mile and made quite a splash with our bright red, Haemophilia Scotland, umbrellas. We were cheered on by a crowd which included the leaders of all the parties represented in the Scottish Parliament. The Riding finished with a picnic in Holyrood Park where we got to talk to some of the other groups and the occasional passing MSP.
We work hard to engage constructively with the Scottish Parliament so were delighted to have been invited to take part in this official event. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness about bleeding disorders and our charity.
