We are thrilled to invite you to our Members’ Day and Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Edinburgh Zoo on Saturday, 30th August! This is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy some fun activities, and learn more about our achievements and plans for the future.
Unable to attend? Appoint a Proxy!
If you are unable to attend, would you please consider appointing a proxy? Because there are changes to the constitution that needs your vote, it is important we get your say in this. We kindly ask that you download, print, sign, and return the completed form to hello@haemophilia.scot by email as soon as possible. You may appoint our Chair, John Dearden, as your proxy. If you appoint a proxy they will be counted towards quoracy and will have the same rights to vote at the meeting as you would have had if you had attended.

- 10:00–11:00 Arrival via the Zoo Members’ Gate and registration at the Education Centre
- 11:00–12:00 Annual General Meeting (AGM) The Agenda for the AGM is as follows:
- To receive the Minutes of the 2024 AGM
- Chair’s Report
- Treasurer’s Report and approval of the 2024–2025 Annual Accounts
- Review of Operational Plan – Presentation by Director
- Proposed amendments to the Constitution
- Election of Charity Trustees
- Questions from Members and closing remarks
- 12:00–14:00 Lunch and time to connect with fellow members in Lemur Lodge
- 14:00–16:00 Optional guided tours led by the Zoo’s education team
- 16:00–18:00 Free time to explore the zoo at your leisure (zoo closes at 18:00)
Election of Charity Trustees
- Under the Constitution the trustee board must comprise between 4 and 12 trustees.
- Any person who was appointed by the board as a trustee since the last AGM must retire and is eligible for election.
– Heather MacLeod falls within this category and offers herself for election. - Of the remaining trustees (of which there are 9) a third must retire, but are eligible for re-election. The third who retire are the longest serving. The three trustees falling within this category are:
– Joanne Kirkham who seeks re-election
– Jay Gardiner who is not seeking re-election
– Katie Mackie who is not seeking re-election. - Nominations have been received for election to the trustee board from
– Vicki Medina who has a bleeding disorder and lives in the Moray area of Aberdeenshire
– Louis Marlow who has a bleeding disorder and lives in the Edinburgh area.
