COVID-19 Shielding impact and experience survey – Scotland

Shielding is for people, including children, who are at very high risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19). Shielding is a measure to protect those people from coming into contact with COVID-19, by minimising all interaction between them and others.

In Scotland, those people at very high risk (or the person who cares for them) have received letters about shielding from Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer. Further information about shielding, including a full list of the health conditions involved and the support available, can be found on the NHS Inform website. If you are shielding and require support, you can contact your local authority’s shielding support line.

The Scottish Government has asked Public Health Scotland to evaluate the shielding programme. This survey is part of that evaluation. The survey will help us learn more about people’s experience of shielding in Scotland. It will also help inform next steps. The survey takes 15 minutes to complete and will be open until Sunday, June 14th 2020.

Public Health Scotland are working with third sector partners to encourage as many people as possible to take part.
