UK Government publishes response to Infected Blood Inquiry Final Report

On Wednesday this week, the Minister for the Cabinet Office, Nick Thomas-Symonds MP, delivered a statement in the House of Commons announcing the publication of the UK Government’s full response to the 12 recommendations from the Infected Blood Inquiry’s Final Report.

This response includes details of the progress made within all four UK administrations with contributions from our own Scottish Government. The full Government report can be found at the following link.

Haemophilia Scotland has also received a letter from the Minister this week outlining recent actions taken by the Cabinet Office and acknowledging that the current speed of compensation claims is too slow and must increase.

We hope to provide a fuller update on what the Government’s response means for our members once we’ve had a chance to review the details in full.
