It’s Trustees Week!

As we celebrate Trustees’ Week, we want to shine a spotlight on the individuals who are often working behind the scenes to steer our organisation in the right direction—our dedicated volunteer trustees. These remarkable individuals play an essential role in our charity, giving their time, skills, and passion to ensure we stay true to our mission and make a meaningful difference for those affected by bleeding disorders in Scotland.

Who Are Our Trustees?

Our trustees are a diverse group of volunteers who bring a range of skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table. Between them, they come from wide professional backgrounds and many of them have a lived experience with bleeding disorders. Together they make up a dedicated team committed to guiding Haemophilia Scotland’s journey. Each trustee is passionate about helping us improve the lives of those in Scotland living with a bleeding disorder, bringing expertise and oversight to keep our charity on course.

What Do Our Trustees Do?

The role of a trustee is multifaceted and requires a significant level of responsibility. Trustees are involved in:

  • Strategic Planning: Our trustees help set the long-term vision for the charity, identifying priorities and strategic goals to make sure we’re working towards our mission effectively.
  • Governance: Trustees oversee the governance of our organisation, ensuring that we meet all regulatory requirements and uphold high standards of transparency and accountability. This includes approving budgets, monitoring finances, and evaluating our impact.
  • Risk Management: Trustees anticipate and manage potential challenges to the charity, making informed decisions that safeguard our operations and reputation.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: Our trustees serve as ambassadors, representing us in the community and advocating for those with bleeding disorders, ensuring their voices are heard.

Why Their Contributions Matter

Trustees work tirelessly, often without public recognition, yet their contributions are crucial to our success. Their leadership and oversight keep our charity strong, helping us navigate challenges and maximise our impact. By dedicating their time, knowledge, and expertise, they make a powerful difference that extends to every individual and family we support.

This Trustees’ Week, Let’s Show Our Appreciation

We are incredibly grateful to our trustees for their commitment, and Trustees’ Week provides the perfect opportunity to express our appreciation. Without their hard work, passion, and guidance, we couldn’t accomplish what we do. So, on behalf of our team and the community we serve, thank you to our trustees for your invaluable contributions!
