Join us at our Comic Book Workshop!

We’re hosting a comic book workshop in March with Magic Torch Comics for people aged 8-15 years old affected by a bleeding disorder.

  • Saturday 18th March
  • 10:00am-3:00pm
  • Garnethill Multicultural Centre, 21 Rose Street, Glasgow G3 6RE
  • Lunch will be provided. (Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions)

We’ll be in the main hall where there’ll be space set up for the workshop. Parents are welcome to stay and observe, or there’ll be tea/coffee that you can catch up over with together in the same hall.

The first half of the day will be an introduction to comic books and comic book making and you’ll be able to try your hand at making a wee comic strip. Following this session and lunch, we’ll have a discussion in the afternoon on your experience of being a young person affected by a bleeding disorder, and the content and ideas discussed will be used by Magic Torch to turn your experiences of living with a bleeding disorder into a comic book! The comic book will be available later in the year and will be a valuable resource to family, friends, teachers etc.

We’ve booked Crazy Golf at nearby Jungle Rumble for 3:40pm so, for the parents and children who are up for it, come join us!

This event is FREE for members.

This project has been made possible by funding through the Essentia Foundation.
