Teen Comic Book Workshop on 7th September

We’re hosting a comic book workshop in September with Magic Torch Comics for people in Scotland aged 12-18 old affected by a bleeding disorder.

  • Saturday 7th September
  • 10:30am-3:30pm
  • City Art Centre, Market Street, Edinburgh EH1 1DE
  • Lunch will be provided (let us know if you have any dietary restrictions)

We’ll be on level 5 in the main gallery at the City Art Centre where there’ll be space set up for the workshop. Level 5 is accessible by lift which you can find on the ground floor straight ahead as you enter the building.

Please note, there is nothing organised for parents but, given the location in the city centre, feel free to arrange something amongst yourselves.

The first half of the day will be an introduction to comic books and comic book making and you’ll be able to try your hand at making a wee comic strip. Following this session and lunch, we’ll have a discussion in the afternoon on your experience of being a young person affected by a bleeding disorder, and the content and ideas discussed will be used by Magic Torch to turn your experiences of living with a bleeding disorder into a comic book! The comic book will be available before the end of the year and will be a valuable resource to family, friends, teachers etc.

We’ve booked an Escape Room afterwards at nearby Can you Escape? for 4:00pm so, for the teens who are up for it, come join us! Book now as there is limited space for the Escape Room and will be first-come, first-served!

This event is FREE for members. If you’re not a member already, it’s free to join! Join online at www.haemophilia.scot/join
